Hi all. I have been sorting out some gremlins and have come to the ignition part.i have no timing marks as they have all been machined off. I am trying to get a base setting for timing by adjusting then dizzy until it pinGs.
Thing is the stupid dizzy either fouls the starter solenoid, oil feed pipe or oil pressure fitting and I just can't get enough advance...
I'm thinking about just gettin a 123 set up or blanking the vac advance off.
I'm going to get a harmonic balancer with marks and change it. Also a timing cover with marks on it.
WithouT an definitive timing setting tuning is just pointless.
Anyone had a similar problem ?
I have changed the coil and it's still dying under load too. I think the dizzy might be buggered anyways.....
Kids this is why you should do it right first time....
Thanks for your replys
