73mm is the standard size isnt it?

The reason I ask is because I found these in the stock shelves at my new work (Auto parts business).

They seem to have been there for a while.
They are for sale obviously, but I was wondering how many standard size 1275's would be around these days anyway.
Not many I would have thought. ..
probably why they havent been sold.

73mm is not standard bore, more like way over bored. The STD probably refers to the dish size for compression ratio.

Standard compression dish size is probably more the reason they are still there.

Standard bore is 70.6mm.

I have a some of those 73mm hypatecs, albeit the flat tops with a dish machined, in my 1411cc stroker. Goes well and leaves one more oversize to 73.5mm.

You will need to offset bore to use 73mm.

cheers
michael

I run those 73mm Hypatecs in my 1360. Also had them in my 1412 stroker.
You do NOT need to offset bore to this size, however if you don't, the next size up (73.5mm = 1380cc) will be the rebore limit for the block.
