Would appreciate some help as I'm having trouble finding someone in the Sydney area to take on the restoration work of two sets of 10" wheels: - Set of 5 original Cooper S MkII steel wheels that need edge tidying and cleaning/painting per original. - Set of 5 Tasman wheels that need edge tidying and cleaning/painting/polishing. Although I've already read through the forum threads here on how to do this myself, I'm not really currently set up to do this, nor have the time to do them justice. Please let me know any suggestions, thanks. Geoff 0407 467 022 |

I'll try him again in a month or so if I can't find anyone else willing to take this on. Any other recommendations? Geoff |

I have used a company at Botany a few times. I had a set of contessa which they cleaned up the rim on a lathe, and now look like new. They can also add weld when the wheels are suffering from gutter rash |

Any updates on this in the last few years? Any new recommendations for Sydney/Western Sydney? I need to get a set of 10" Rostyle steel wheels restored and am struggling to find anyone who wants to touch the steel wheels. Cheers, Kylie. |

What exactly needs to be done to them? Do they require any repairs or just a strip back and new paint? I have used Spot On wheel repairs in Unanderra for alloy wheels and they did a great job. I've also used a local sandblaster for stripping steel wheels. I used spray cans to paint the wheels, although they were just silver all over and not two tone like some Rostyle wheels. Powdercoating shops can normally strip them and powdercoat them which is a tough wearing finish. |

Not a recommendation...but I would certainly talk to them (considering just that for another car)...the name has been around for over 50 years (no guaranty of good service tho) http://mortonandmay.wixsite.com/wheelrepairs |

Hi guys, yep they require repairs to get a few dents/buckles out as well as rust and a respray etc. I rang and spoke to both Spot on Wheels and Morton and May and unfortunately they no longer repair steel wheels. Spoke to a guy at Mag Wheel Repairs Kings Park, he seems reluctant but has asked to see them so I might start there and see how I go. Also spoke to Ben at Pro Mac in Cardiff who might be able to help but that's a bit of a hike from where I'm at so that is a last resort. Any other tips let me know. Cheers, Kylie. |

I ended up using Spot On wheel repairs in Unanderra to restore 5 x Tasman alloy wheels. Not cheap, though I'm very pleased with the quality of their work. In addition I had member 1018cc (thanks Nick !) make me up a new set of centres, and applied new Tasman MkII vinyl centre decals from John Smidt. New wheel nuts were made up by Frank Tonitto. This is now 3 or 4 years ago, and they still look as good. At the time Spot On wheel repairs were also willing to do the Cooper S steel rims as well, though too much $ for me in one hit. Good luck.
