As mentioned in another thread, NZ regulations prohibit importing Minis due to not meeting frontal impact standards. So what we've got is all we've got, and some of the locals are taking a pretty dim view of exporting Minis, especially some of the rarer variants.

Divorce can be a bitch, eh?

Also, $25000... maybe a fraction too high an asking price...?

Also (again), "running on AVGAS"...

It had better be a damn well built engine, as my 1430 ran on AVGAS once, and those of you who have known about my mehcanical troubles as of late, it will fark up your engine something chronic. I wouldn't buy it for that reason alone.

EDIT: 'Sif legal running on AVGAS...

I've talked to a few guy's in N.Z who are making an absolute killing exporting mini's to the States.
Another time I was talking to a guy in Australia who said his father restores roundnoses and exports them to Thailand, for $35,000!!!!! I had just purchased my car and it was on the back of the trailer,he asked me if it was for sale or did I just buy it.After I said it wasn't for sale,he spun me the yarn.
My wife still hates me for not letting it go.
I still don't know if that 's what he makes, but he seemed genuine.

I heard that over 100 Minis left Christchurch in the space of a couple of months, and it is a serious issue here. Check out this ning nong. NZ isn't a big place but we're losing Minis daily. Okay there's probably money in, but it doesn't bode well for the future of the classic Mini scene. Minis are getting to be pretty rare considering how many there used to be. With the cost of shipping panels from England, they're a dying breed.

A lot went there from here too. It's obscene what they go for in the US, good ones or bad.

Mate,I'm not into the export scene to make money.I talk to mini interested people to gather information on the one local car I'm restoring. What they do is there business and it's really no concern of mine.I do think I said,I didn't let my car go and it might be a good idea, not to insult people until you get your facts right.I won't for one minute mention the Warriors.
