Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm new to the mini scene.
I want to fit 10" X 4 1/2" wheels to my 1964 850.
There are Replica Cooper S wheels available or second hand Genuine Cooper S wheels.
Will either of these suit Original and replica hub Caps.

I currently have 8.4" disc brake font end fitted (as purchased) with 12" Performance mags and I am willing to change the disc, calliper and drive flange to 7 1/2" discs so that I can fit 10" wheels. It already has the spacer drums on the back.

Regards
Phil

Yes the cooper s wheels will fit over 7.5" brakes. Minisport in the uk have a kit to change your 8.4" to smaller size. I think they might be to a 7.9" which im not sure if they will fit

Original wheels take any caps
Replica wheels only take genuine caps (weird huh?)

There is also an alloy replica set you can buy if you want to save some weight! (On sale at the moment for about $900 shipped)

If you are interested in the alloy wheels, find out about their offset first, before ordering. There were some Japanese ones that were designed to fit over 8.4" disks. The only way they could achieve it was by having massive offset that put them outside the disks. They needed big arches and probably wouldn't be legal here.

The ones that fit beside 8.4 discs look a bit different and they are 5x10..

Vs minisport/Griffin ones which are 4.5x10..

As stated both fit the original wheels however the original caps are better made (as you would expect) and have a more rounded rolled inner edge which helps them slip on and off more smoothly. The replicas I have had have a sharp inner edge that can tend to be grab and catch or jam often getting bent on removal.

Thanks all.
So if I buy Replica rims I can only use Genuine Hub Caps.
Can you still buy Genuine Hub Caps ?

Is there a replica hub cap that fits replica wheels or do you have to go nude.

Regards
Phil
