Hey all. In a way im glad the previous owner spray all under the mini with sound deadner but im cursing him now. Gonna be s long job too remove. Anyone got any tios on easy removal? Cheers |

I was watching a video by a guy restoring his RX5 and he was removing the bituminous sound deadener from the inside floor with dry ice. He had chunks of dry ice sitting on the floor. It made the bitumen less flexible and made it easy to scrape it off in big chunks with an air chisel. He then got rid of the last bits with kerosene. No use if your sound deadener is not bitumen and you would probably have to turn the car upside down to be able to put the dry ice on. |

wire brush. Chucks the stuff everywhere though. I have also heard Diesel will remove it. |

Take the shell to the show.....get kids to come along and have a scrape and tell them that they are helping to restore a piece of history! lol! |

Funny you say that. I already asked the teeball club im president of if for end of year party the kids could come to my house and sand my mini. It was frowned upon... What better team building exercise is there. .... |

I know someone who said they used to make their kids scrape it off. It was how they "helped" build the car. |
