Just got pulled up by highway patrol to check my licence as we needed to pass through a closed area with the fires in Williamtown atm. Mr Plod then advises that my wheels are outside the guards and as such Barney is to be issued with a defect notice. 1 hour to get home, 21 days to fix or rego is cancelled.

ning nong was highly combative just to make the exchange all the more enjoybale. ning nong.

So where can I get a set of 10 x 5. Maybe rose petals.

:x

How about a nice set of 10x4.5 Cooper S wheels for your `Pretend S".

Sorry no rubber, but they are nice and straight. With good hubcaps.

[edit] How about you just bung on some wider flares instead? Much cheaper...

Do you have any pics of your wheels on the car. Also what wheels do you currently have?

Got all the respect in the world for the police but this one seems a bit below the belt for me, what are you running 10x7 with crazy dish and no flares :D

We used to own that car.
He now has 10x6 Minators I think, under Cooper S Mk2 flares. That cop must be up himself, or a Mini hater... :x

Don't have any spare wheels Evan but if you want to swap wheels for a week or so until you get the defect cleared I'm happy to do that. Mine are 10 x 5 Mk2 Tasmans.

Haven't heard of a mini being defected for ages. That is quiet a nuisance.
As Chux suggested, borrow some skinny wheels off someone and then switch back to your regulars.
How long have you been running your current setup?

Given the amount of action out our way, it's hard to believe they would have time to worry about that sort of thing.
Coming home today eight police cars with flashing lights shot by at about 130k in a 90k zone.
I've been told since, they were trying to run your mini down, Matrikon.

Wheels are 10 x 6 Minators with Yoko A008s. They stick out by a poofteenth at the front. When he said 'why are they protruding..." I said that that's how they come. I was then incensed when he said I was a liar and and that I should be very careful lying to a police officer. His position was that they were not factory fitted I corrected him and said that hardly a component remained on the vehicle that was factory fitted. We went tit for tat until logic and fairness were long behind us.

If I was some mug lair 17 year old selling crack in my suspension-less ricer with blow off valves and a doof doof stereo... then by all means I make myself a target. But I'm not. One saving grace was that he did not investigate the hefty oil leak or the fact that I'm using a GPS in lieu of a speedo.

All aside, as the rubber on the rear has worn so I'm going to on sell them and get a set of 10 x 5s. Doc, I'm not a fan of contessas and I think the original S wheels are a bit under done. I like Barney's stance, I just need to make it a little narrower ( or apply about 5 degrees of negative camber).

So where are the best value wheel and tyre packages?

Where do you need to take it to get the canary cleared? Most pink slip/blue slip inspection stations would pass that.

1/2 a degree or 1 degree negative camber will fix that up no worries. 1/2 degree is a lot you know... here's Lillee with 2.5 degrees:

Note that the photo itself is not level. Pay attention to the neg camber in relation to the rear wheel which is already 1/2 degree negative, use your imagination on Barney. GOOD LUCK!
