Has anyone in Mini land have a Mini K which has the body prefix YMG2S1 not the later prefix of YG2S1? Would be interested to hear from anyone who has such a vehicle. |

According to the data here it says morris 1100 sedan. http://www.mini.org.au/mini_identification.html But read somewhere else its mini K as is the prefix YG2S1 depending on diff size, according to Watto. From here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23035 watto wrote: Check other prefixes and this makes sense - YMA2S1 - Morris 850, YMA2S4 - Mini Matic, YMG2S1 or YG2S1 - Mini K, depending on diff ratio. (That post is very old though and Watto would know lots more now) So I don't know..... |

Didn't look through the list, just saw the prefix and from a mini org and assumed was good. |

Hmm, that can't be a coincidence, my brother-in-law just agreed to buy this one on the Gold Coast, advertised as a 1971 Mini K but with a YMG2S1 prefix. It has early door handles so isn't a '71, but seems to have a correct Mini K engine number. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gold-coast-region/cars-vans-utes/1971-mini-k-sedan/1031789637 Were you looking at it too John? I do not wish to purchase however I would be interetsed in the build number to go with the YMG2S1 if you are able to supply. I am trying to establish whether the YMG2S1 code was used or they simply used YG2S1. |

The numbers he's been given are Type YMG2S1, Car number 693, Engine No. 10YCTaH 1272, colour 1/Malmo Green/3. I'd be really keen to see if anyone has any theories about it. My guess is that its from around the time of the transition from Deluxe to Mini K production. Tim |

I have a YGS21, again early door handles, my guess is a 69, doesn't have a build plate either, just a Berger paint sticker. The wiper date is 4-69. |
