Cheers Kev,

I've got the battery on the trickle charger this afternoon, I'll see how it is in the morning. I checked the battery spec on the current battery, it's a 43 with only 260CCA. Might have to consider upgrading mine!

Have many updates of the box come out?
I'm in the middle of building a custom front loom and want to purchase to incorporate now, but my car is unlikely to be on the road for 1-2 years.
Worth risking an updated version coming out?

They are no longer available new. Accuspark appear to have pulled it.
No word on any updates.

Aldon released a similar box called an Aldon Amethyst. Google seems to show it gave problems and is now NLA also.

There is a similar unit here, it has load based tuning like the Aldon unit

Its a shame, for the want of a software update.

My one is still rock solid, pushes a high energy coil and a large plug gap.

I have a spare unit new, but it needs a fresh copy of Windows Vista to operate the software...

Looks like it might work.. VW owners over there don't buy crap that doesn't.
(Edit) CB Performance makes a whole heap of air cooled VW go faster stuff.

I just checked the Aldon website and there is a new 2017 version available and in stock (or so they say) - it looks like it went out of stock around May and back in stock in Sept but that may have been waiting for the updated version?
. I got one a while back but have not run it properly yet - would be interested in what the reported problems are as I did a search and found a few comments but as usual there were opposite and contradictory opinions in the same threads?
The same comments seems to go for the black box.
Cheers
Rod

I ended up with a Swiftune CSI dizzy after changing 4 dead Stealth boxes over and over - 16 advance curves available, and no voltage/windows update/any issues to speak of.

Couldn't be happier 8)

There is now a 123 Bluetooth, if you have $500+ handy...

Didn't they have a programable one you plugged into as well?
Cheers

Here is the USB version. Still pretty pricey.
https://www.123ignitionshop.com/gb/asto ... e4rvg.html

The nice thing about the Accuspark/CB Performance/Aldon Amethyst box is that you can install it to your original distributor and hide it away. If I was going all out for performance I'd also think about a megajolt kit.

Apart from the USB version,
The original 123 had 16 advance curves that you could select from, after removing a plug underneath. However if none suited your build there was no curve adjustment.

How useful is the dwell function on the stealth? A must have, or just used because it's included?
Leaning towards the CB unit, but missing the dwell function

I think the CB one adjusts the dwell automatically. You don't need a lot of dwell at low speed. And on the stealth you have to ensure that you don't set it too high as advance increases. Dwell + advance must total less than 90°.

Cost of the CB one landed here is about A$333. May use one for my son's 1300 build.
