I want to replace my 5.5 gal tank with a 7.5 gal tank. I see in the parts Manual that a longer/different strap is used to retain the 7.5. Any further details would be appreciated. Is the new diagonal strap attached to the same mounting points that the smaller tank uses? Are there any other modifications required to make this work? I am yet to buy a 7.5 tank. Anyone have one for sale?

You can use the original strap, it's just not preferred. I think thats how the 1275LS cars did it though.
The angled brace attaches to the same point at the top, but the bottom is different. The attaching bolt goes sideways, not down into the floor. Adapter brackets are easily made though.
