Hey everyone
I'd thought I would run this past here for any hints and tips

On the mini I have two crap bullet style concaved mirrors which I'd like removed - I believe it's via internally.
Is there a write up or a general DIY on how to do so that anyone has a link to?

Also, does anyone know the legalities for how many mirrors you must run- on a 74 ?
Ideally I'd like just a single clamp on spotter.

Thanks for your time

Bullet style mirrors weren't factory fitted, so its anyone's guess as to how they have been mounted. The factory ones have a metal plate screwed to the door skin, then the foot of the mirror clips over it from the outside and is held in place by a small grub screw concealed where the arm pivots. Have a good look to see if you can find something similar on yours, otherwise you'll have to pull the door trims out and look up inside the door.

I just had my mini roadworthyed in Victoria, all it had was an interior rear vision mirror and it passed without an issue***
on the vic roads website there is a document which lists all the "basic" roadworthy requirements for things like mirrors, seat belts, etc

You should be able to find the same sort of thing out if you have a look at the RTA website (are they called the RTA in nsw still?)

***EDIT: I had best update this post.... I got a call from the place doing the roadworthy on my car, and after having it for a week waiting for a couple of bits to arrive before it passed the roadworthy, they also decided it needed the drivers side mirror before it could pass.
I already had the mirror, it just wasn't on the car, all good now, i dropped the mirror off at lunch time and i'm picking the car up with the completed roadworthy tonight.
So yes, it appears you need a drivers side mirror on a 75 mini...

In NSW, RTA is now RMS.
Early cars an external mirror was an option, my 1970 Matic had none when bought. It now has 1 Tex Rover style one, I'm considering fitting another.
There would be an ADR for when they became mandatory but I dunno when it was. Mid 70s?

The only page I can see mentioning a year is this one:
http://www.elevenhundred.com/morris1500/rules.php

You'll be looking for ADR 14

Edit: ADR second edition says after 1972 you must have a rear and drivers mirror
http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/ ... _adrs.aspx
This has specifics on mounting and types allowed:

If it didn't come out with it you don't need to have one UNLESS it's a van, wagon or sedan with obscured vision internally. i.e. Blanked out or heavily tinted windows, internal barriers etc
