Are both indicator bulbs working when you put your indicators on?

I had a heap of trouble with my indicators just this week, they were slow, and my stalk light wouldn't work.
Cleaning the fuse box with some contact cleaner, and replacing the flasher can with a $7 generic three pin one fixed them right up.

If it's only one side and all the bulb wattages are the same I'd say it must be a dirty connection or a bad earthing point. I'd try fiddling with the nuts on the back of the tail light on the side that is slow first, the rear indicator earth is through them. I don't know where the front indicator earth goes, it's a wire into the loom
