I'm a bigger sort of bloke. 6'2" 120kg.
Now that the clubman is in bits, I'd like to put something a little more accommodating in when it goes back together. Is there a common source of seats known to be readily able to be made to fit?
I was thinking Suzuki Vitara or Nissan Pulsar, but haven't run the tape measure over anything yet.

The issue I have with advice for this type of question is the responses generally don't details what year\model the suitable seats are from. The size of many cars have grown over the years, as have the seats. eg. Older Swift GTi seats are a good fit but the current Swift seats are not. This happened to me - purchased 2nd hand a 2007 Swift seats to put in my mini and they were too high and wide to fit properly.

I have a mate who has Honda Prelude seats (from late 1990's model) in his Mini and they are a snug fit for me (6'1", 85kg). If you can find them, Honda CRX seats are a great fit too (They stopped making CRXs in 1992 I think).

I'd also like to know which seats can be fitted in without much or any modding at all.

I have 2006 mini cooper s seats in my clubman. They fit in without too much drama, plus they have a huge amount of slide travel (dad is 6 foot 5 ), and can fold forward to get in the back. The MX 5 seats are nice, one of the guys in the QMCC has them, but don't fold forward enough, so you have to use the original seat hinges from your old seats. You can see mine in the car audio section under "stereos and speaker placement". Toyota Supra and Porsche will also apparently fit also.

Mark.

NA series mx-5 seats are great for mokes and would fit a mini but they are perfect for someone a bit less than 6 foot. Bigger than that and people feel they sit 'on' them rather than 'in' them.

NB series are taller and no wider but NC (current) are much bigger, rx8 size.

Series 1 swift fit but they are bulky and heavy!

Would the below seats fit into a mini without too much modding.

Thanks Harley, but I was hoping for something with a little more comfort. Rover ones might be alright though.

I'd say so... my honda seats are out of an '89 civic

grab a tape measure and go wander around at the wreckers - no matter what seats you get there will be some manufacturing of brackets or bits and pieces. Nothing other than Harleys list of seats will "drop straight in"

I figure if you're capable of doing the work to install a non-original seat, then you're probably capable of finding one that will fit

Depending on available coin - you could always buy some cobra seat rails and classic / bucket seats.

Current coin is shrapnel, hence fleabay and gumtree shopping. I'm open to offers and donations though.

I don't have the know-how or tools needed to mod the seats to fit either, so I'm probably looking for something that someone has already modded to bolt straight in, or for someone to offer their services.
