The time has come to give my cooper s some loving starting with replacing the hydro lines. There is a small leak in the passenger side and requires pumping up about every 3 months. I have read you can braze the lines but Id rather just replace them both and be done with it.

Has anyone had any experience with the replacement lines on offer here or have a better suggestion?

Nylon flexible hose http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... o%20search

2 piece pipe http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... |Back%20to

Im guessing both the 2 piece and flexible hose can both be fitted without having to remove the subframes? Do you even have to remove subframes for genuine lines?

Thanks in advance.

Hey babes

Im not too crash hot on hydro systems but after removing the remnants of the hydro lines on my 68 deluxe I would say you would have to remove the subframes.

you do need to remove the subframes to fit the genuine lines in the genuine place, with genuine bends, but if you're not concerned about originality or having them a bit exposed you can put them anywhere you want... the only real reason the rear subframe needs to come out is to get the pipe under the front edge of the rear subframe, and he only reason the front subframe needs to come out is to make it easier to get it under the rear... you could do it with the front still in the car and just drop it an inch or so.

personally I reckon flexible hoses fed through the crossmember, under the dash, down the door post, through the sills and then over the top of the rear subframe would be the way to do it - kinda tricky to get them in there though :D
