It's now 20 years since I last removed & replaced these. As Vizard recommends, removal to clean the oil galleries properly, is necessary. Does anyone know where these can be obtained? Any advice appreciated. |

I used to buy brass welch plugs years ago, but lately all I have found available for Minis are steel ones. Originals were steel and they lasted pretty well, so using brass was probably overkill. ![]() [edit] I buy them from Karcraft. edit 2 My bad I thought you meant the water jacket.. ![]() re the oil ones I machine new brass ones, .504" dia and drive them in. |

I tap a thread and make bungs out of bolts to screw in. 9/16th UNF is the size i use i believe. Just a bit of a job to have the bung screw in far enough but not too far and in some cases not protrude from the block. |
