What is the correct float level measurement for the all nylon float? Distance between float and underside of lid with lid inverted? And what does the delrin needle look like?
Should I follow the details I got from Midel?

I think the old rule of thumb is to put a 3/16th drill bit underneath the outside end of the float to give you a level measurement . |

Does that remain the same with the fixed nylon float as I remember that was the measurement with the float with the metal arm. |

Gap should be 0.125 to 0.1875 inch (3.17 to 4.76mm) for the float in your picture. Have the weight of the float only resting on the needle. Can be adjusted be adding of removing washers or gaskets where the seat screws into the top. |

Dunno....but I would steer clear of any material that looks a bit soft or rubbery (supposedly to stop them bouncing) ...they tend to make the needles stick with gummed up fuel |

The bottom needle is the current replacement type. It's what I used in my twin SU's when I rebuilt them. I have the same floats as your first picture. I'm not sure about the top needle in your picture. |

The top needle has a small spring loaded ball where it contacts the float. This can be depressed inwards. I note the description for setting the float level it describes the float is "not depressed" made me wonder if it should e running the top needle type. As you can't exactly depress the bottom needle. |
