My clubbies rubber CV decided it hates being thrashed and gave up on life. I don't want to use the same type of joint, is it just a matter of fitting different output flanges on the diff or is it more involved than that. It is a remote change box. I have spare shafts with pot type joints but came off a disc brake front and the clubby is drum, can I use these or will I have to convert it to discs.

I'm not sure about converting from rubber unis to pots (which is what it sounds like you're after), but I can tell you that the output flanges and driveshafts will need to be changed. They will work for both disc and drum brakes.

You may be able to do this by cracking one ball joint to slide the cv in, but to replace the driveshaft it will probably be easier to remove the brake assembly. The driveshaft is held in by a small ring clip, and you will need a BFH to remove it.

You will need to change the diff shafts if you want to change to pot joints or hardy spicer. This means taking the engine out and removing the diff housing to get to diff itself which needs to be pulled apart. If you do go that way, you can remove the swap the outer cv joints so you end up with your pot joint shaft with a drum brake cv joint.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to find some QL5000 (pretty sure that's the part number) which are a direct replacement for the rubber uni. http://www.minispares.com/product/classic/QL5000.aspx but finding some may be difficult, i just searched a couple of the aussie suppliers and they don't have them stocked at the moment by the looks of things.
