Hola. I'm trying to get the carb needle out of the piston but I cannot. I've loosened the retaining screw and the needle isn't jammed in, it can still wiggle, but it won't come out. Am i missing something? |

Am i missing something? no, thats pretty normal - whenever I have that problem and I want to keep the needle, I take the grub screw out and drill a ~1mm hole part way through the shank of the needle, then use a sharp pointer (my old school compass) to lever it out. Most of my needles have the same little hole on the shank now... |

I had this problem with a fixed type needle. I took out the grub screw and it still wouldn't budge. I simply mounted the needle in a soft jawed vice and whacked the piston with a rubber mallet. Still took a few hits before moving, but it worked. But I'm not sure what this would do to the spring loaded type. |
