My speedo cable has broken in the gearbox. Unfortunately for me the gearbox is still in the car. I have unscrewed the cable casing at the gearbox but can see the broken end in the gearbox recess. If I undo the engine mount and jack the engine, will I be able to get my hand in location and maybe use tweezers to pull the cable end out of the gearbox recess. Any tricks would be great. |

Have you tried to undo the singular bolt holding the entire threaded assy to the gear box and then remove the whole kit and kapoodle? Its a tight squeeze but you can undo that bolt and remove it all from under the car. |

I removed the bolt and retainer, then pulled the circular centre piece out. My broken speedo cable and its thick end piece are wedged ( about an inch long). I couldn't remove them with pliers. |
