Thsi has been up on Ausmini a few times, with Dripcheck and Sikaflex being the recommended product. In common with the same products used between the seam covers and the body, the pitfall is if it cracks or shrinks, or otherwise wrecks the paint over the top. Dripcheck was used on my shell in 2009 ,and is holding up pretty well at four years. Otherwise have a look at these threads: viewtopic.php?t=32486&view=previous viewtopic.php?f=2&t=80953&view=next |

Mine was done by my painter 3 years ago with Sikaflex, so far paint's not cracked... |

I used 3M Drip Check seal on my last car and it cracked not long after I painted the car. I followed the instructions to the letter because I was concerned it might crack, but it cracked anyway. Its the worst product I have ever used. In the UK we used to use Tiger seal, not sure if its available here. |

Saw a a classic resto American muscle the other day on telly and the resto mob were silicon bronze brazing the panel joints .... I thought what a fantastic idea for the guard / scuttle joint.... No cracking then ![]() |

That joint line was not originally sealed with anything - just painted. Drop-Check does eventually dry and crack, as along roof gutter mould drip rails. Sikaflex seems to be popular but haven't had it on very long yet. |
