Hi folks

Looking to get back in a Morris Mini.

May sound like a silly question, but have any of you had a babyseat in the back of a mini?

Also, are there any roofrack options?

Thanks in advance
Mark

I've only limited experience with baby seats (not having a baby and all), but installing a bay seat will be a little bit more difficult. Normally, you would need to put the sash belt through the back (non-retractable in a mini if the have them at all - 1st difficulty), but most seats are also supposed to have a strap that goes under the seat (in between the back and the base of the seat) that goes around over the top of the seat.

So it's easy if you put a baby seat in the front, but harder in the back. You can undo the bolts for the back seat (under the parcel shelf in the boot), lift the seat up and run the strap though and bolt the seat back down and permanently have the strap there. Adjust the seat belt so it's really tight and it should work just fine. Now the only problem is reaching into the back to get your baby in/ out.

Roof racks are one of those period pieces - they seem to go for a reasonable amount of money because it's a classic look. But they are available, but I don't know if you can get them new.

I can't seem to find roof racks new, I really like the look of them. One member on here made some out of pool fencing.

I wouldn't recommend putting the baby on the roof though.

Better than that, I've ridden in a babyseat in the back of a Mini - mind you it was around 43 years ago.
