What are the thoughts on colour? Just black or the original colours?

It's just the rubber seal we are talking about, which is black.

Pinch weld is the bit that can be coloured and is easier to source or the original piece can be reused as it ages well.

This is a pic of the original seal and accompanying but separate pinch-weld that Phill Boye posted earlier in this thread.

Count me in for one set.

Original grey pinch weld would be great as well.

GOOD NEWS

The company contacted is going ahead to make the tooling and then manufacture the door seal to the original specification, based on the interest shown by this group's members and other sources (thank you everyone for your response). They have been provided with a sample of the rubber seal, the pinchweld and the BMC engineering drawings for the seal and pinchweld.

The company is Rubber Seals Australia in Adelaide with manufacturing being done locally using real rubber. It will take a few months to complete the work needed.

That really is a great result. I will take a look at mine and see if I need a set too.
