Hi

Can you still buy the original door seal rubber or sponge for the Australian mini's.
The silver pinch weld is in good condition but the seal is damaged.
Would any body know of a supplier or any further information on original door seals.

Regards Pete.

Take a look at http://www.spectrumrubber.com.au/

They have a PDF catalogue that shows the different sections.

Ive never brought rubber there just there bits like grommets and the square plastic screw bit behind a clubman grill and the door lock clips that clip to the rods usually about 5-10 cents each

I have been told that the xd-xe-xf falcons are about the same so a bloke at the gannons car show last year reckons

Thanks Brett

That's what I was thinking and have been advised the new rubbers are to hard and won't allow the door to close.
I was also told that the falcon door rubber is the same or almost the same along with the pinch weld if you can find the right colour ?????
All those restorations, some one must have an idea please.
Would Ron Williams be able to help me

Regards Pete.

Just reviving an old thread. Anyone found rubbers that fit the old pinch mould??

My car actually has the separate pinch mould but it's the newer black stuff. The rubber is separate but doesn't hold very well.

Can someone post a cross section of the original rubber?

I used the Karcraft rubbers, they are black but suit my red car.
As said above, XD Falcon rubber fits, but when I bought that years ago it was black too.
Note- I'm talking about windup window Oz doors. 850 sliding window ones use thinner rubber.

Hi
Just an update which I asked the question on door seal rubbers.
I had no luck on my travels around Australia finding any rubbers that would fit the door's with several leads to go on.
I did mangage to find and buy a new old stock set of silver pinch weld door seal's so that was a bit of good luck.
I will continue to look for a door seal rubber that could replace an old rubber. Many that I have tried will not allow the door to close as it should.
Regards Pete.

How about buying rubbers from UK?
From memory when I bought Mk1 850 rubbers from Minisport UK years ago, the rubber was separate to the `pinch weld' (but that was plastic, had no metal in it). Rubber was too narrow for my Oz windup doors so I bought local.

I took a sample off my mini k down to clark rubber and got some off the roll stuff that fits perfect. I know its not silver but for anyone else looking for replacement rubber it does the job fine.

Can someone confirm that this is the correct rubber for the old silver pinch mould. I suspect it's not right because the pinch mould doesn't seem to grip it very well.

I just need to know so i know what I'm looking for.

If it's wrong does someone have a photo of the correct rubber.

Cheers

Phill

No wrong. The straight bit has to be longer

Ok thought so. Whatever it is it sort of works. Just doesn't hold it very firmly.
