I believe pinchweld is already available in various colours.
May not have the correct pattern on it, but am sure its available.

If its getting remade (the pinchweld), will it be made in various colours. Ie Silver, Black, Brown, Cream....

If you already have pinchweld, will the rubber be available separately?

I hope so as that's what I want to do - retain the original (cleaned) pinchweld and just add new rubber seals.

Thanks for all your hard work Doug. I would like a set for my mini too please. Unfortunately it’s currently using the bonded rubbers and I’m not happy with the way that they close. It’s liveable but not to the standards that I want.
I’ve just gone back over the thread the correct profile will allow the rubber to move/squash easier without being bonded to the pinchweld.

As I don’t have the original pinchweld can I please ask if it’s just normal pinchweld or is it wider to allow for the rubber to fit inside it?

Hello all,
I’ve just spoken with Rubberseals Australia to check on the progress or otherwise of the correct mini door rubbers.
The good news is that they have been able to produce a prototype from the drawings.
The bad news is that the prototype was made with a rubber compound that (using their words) “ too floppy”
They are about to trial a different rubber compound and see how that goes.
In short, the work continues towards a suitable replacement door rubber.

Once they get the rubber to a satisfactory product then they will be looking for people to test fit them and provide feedback.
If it’s all good and no issues then it will go into production.

Hang in there folks. Like all things mini it’s three steps forward and two back :D :D

We are trying to work out a different way of running the rubber with the rubber mill to stop it from collapsing.

QUESTION Wasn't this type and colour of door weather sealing used in the Austin 1800 Kimberley and Tasman and the Morris 1100 and 1500 back in the 1960's as well as the Clubmans?

Yes, the same type was used across a few of the BMC range but only early Clubman as the vulcanised seal and pinch weld type took over until production ended.

I always thought the pinch weld was colour coded to the interior
