My fuel tank sender hasn't been working since I got the van, and I assumed it was a dodgy sender. Replacing the sender didn't fix the issue, but I found that earthing the sender body to the subframe fixed it.

So my question, before I go connecting a random wire between a sender screw and an earth is: Are van fuel tanks supposed to have an earth strap of some kind, or are they simply earthed through the tank mounting bolts? I was wondering if there is supposed to be a bonding wire to the tank itself?
