Hi All,
Well I managed to follow Doogies fantastic 'How To' guide and removed the engine last weekend so now I'm looking for a good painter in Brisbane. Does anyone have any hot tips on who is great or who I should avoid to get a quality paint job on my little George? I'm a little out of touch so I don't know what a paint job for a car is worth nowadays but the bodywork is very straight and only a few rust repairs around the body joins. All advice appreciate

I'm not from the area, so I can't recommend anyone.

I can say:
- If there is rust along the seams, expect to find it in other place.
- if you can afford it, have the car taken back to bare metal. I recently found surface rust under what looked to be good paint.
- Be very explicit with the panel beater/painter what you want done.
- Do it once, do it properly.
- Expect to pay around $10000.

Thanks Ryan. Good advice.
I've meet with a few different body shops to discuss the project and have received varying responses on how best to approach it. I'm slowly stripping everything now but I intended to leave in the front and rear subframes (for now) then have them powder coated after the bodywork is done. I'll keep you posted.
