Post subject: | Steering question |
Ok got a little problem and l think l know the answer but l would like some advice regardless. This afternoon l installed a 7.9inch 4 pot minisport drive assemblies. But now I've got this problem, steering wheel is at dead centre, my wheels are now opposing each other 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock. ![]() Now what l don't understand is why this has happened. Is it because I've gone from solids to vented discs, or because my hubs are now from a 8.4 inch setup or have l done something stupid? Can l wind out the the tie rod to correct this? Then get to a tyre shop for a alignment. Thanks! |

Make sure you don't run out of thread on the Tie rod ends . You might need to use the longer Ball joints. I think you are going to need arches too. |

The short answer is that disc and drum brakes use different steering arms. Easiest thing for you is to swap them over. |

No the brakes didn't come with steering arms. I was running 7.5inch solids with no dramas |

I Think You may find that some of the Australian built Minis with drum brakes also used the same steering arm as the disc brake models That is why I enquired about the Part Number |
