What would a mini K be worth? i'm looking at one so heres a description. 71 mdl, its been resprayed at some point in the past so paint is still in good nick but there is rust coming through on one hinge panel and a couple small other bits. Interior is in great condition and the whole car is pretty standard other than for some contessa's. It has 50000 original miles apparently. will come with rwc and reg. Are mini K's getting rarer? They are looking at 7.5 for it which seems way over priced compared to some i have seen advertised. i was expecting more like 4k. What do people think?

$4K is about the price i would pay for it
$7.5 i think is too expensive, especially if there is that bit of rust in it
i think if theres rust there, theres bound to be rust elsewhere
what kind of respray was it? (bare metal - taken back to metal, primed and painted
flow coat - coat of paint on top)

THere was a completely original mini k in excellent condition avertised in the geelong paper this morning, no reg, but with rwc. $11500 they were asking.

Neither me or poeee went to have a look, but they seem to be worth the money.

Maybe not $11500, but they are worth it. :P

11500? heck its not a cooper. there was advertised in here which basically was rebuilt and looked like new and even that was 9.5k and took ages to sell.

how longs a piece of string?

but seriously, tell em they're dreaming..
take away takumi tax, cooper S tax, Bini tax and rover tax and you're looking at about 4k maximum.

11500 for a mini is ridiculous.. unless its a cooper/s or has been immaculately restored to ORIGINAL condition and is a rarer model.

lets get real here, the only minis worth any money are the genuine sports/rare models

I paid $7100 for my Cooper S in roughly the same condition and I think I paid to much ! (about 3 months ago )Sounds big money and I always shiver at the recent resprays,9 times out of 10 it means rust.

I paid $1600 for mine about a year and a bit ago now....

Sounds to be in a similar condition to what yours is asking...

We paid $7K for `Barney the pretend S'- but he had just had a bare metal respray in 2 pack, full retrim, Honda discs, Hi-Lo dry suspension, twin tanks, blah blah. OK, so it only had a humble 1098, then...
Lot of money for a Mini Deluxe, but-
We jumped on it as I knew the car and its owner...
Could not have done it myself for this kind of money.

if its a '71, does it have clubby doors (ie lift up handle with "burst proof" latch)??

they are a bit rarer than the average K, but maybee not that much

yeah it has clubby doors and rear end. i just don't think its worth anywhere near 7.5k cause it has a bit of rust and no doubt more lurking elsewhere. engine bay is pretty average as well so that hasn't been painted. if it had no rust, some cooper s running gear then maybe pay it but its basically standard apart from the wheels and low kms. i'll try get a pic soon
