I have just replace my 8.4" discs and calipers with 7.5" ones. Did the left side (passenger) and bled the caliper with a hose attached to the bleed nipple and one way valve on the end with no trouble. Did the same on the right hand side and I cant for the life of me get any fluid to come out of the bleed nipple. I even completely removed the bleed nipple and still cant get fluid out. When I removed the bleed nipple it was completely dry. Could the caliper not have the bleed hole drilled correctly ?. Phil |

It is possible, many Mini brake parts are no longer made in UK, they come from much further >>>>>East. I once bought a rear wheel cylinder here with the bleed hole drilling unfinished. Same problem, but it was made in Italy.. |

The hose is Ok as the fluid freely flows through it. I have removed the caliper and tried blowing into the bleed port (nipple removed) and cant get any air to flow through. My theory is, if you can bleed fluid out, air must go through ! Phil |

Well I just tried my theory with the 8.4" caliper I just took off, and sure enough I can blow through the inlet (hose connection) and out of the bleed nipple. Looks like I will have to return this one for another. Phil |

Took the caliper back today and they happily swapped it for one that you could blow through. Fitted it up, bled it and all is good. Nipples are now nice and moist ! Phil |
