Post subject: | Clubby left engine steady |
Can someone with a late clubby please tell me in what order the pieces go on the head for the left engine steady. I have: 1. A plate that secures the engine steady. Goes under the thermostat housing. 2. An alloy spacer that also goes under the thermostat housing 3. The thermostat housing Do that attach to the head in that order ^^^^ I need 3 ****** gaskets!! How stupid! You onlu get ONE in a gasket set. |

bin the gaskets and use sylastic - worked for me. Plus no need for a scraper - new gasket - + gasket compound every time you take the housing off - just pull the silicon off (real easy), apply a new layer and let it harden for 10 mins - perfect and doesnt leak - just use the good quality gasket maker stuff, not just simlple silicone. |

yea? and no spacer? is the engine steady level from the head to the firewall?, or is it on a angle? this is the best pic I have of JAM's bay prior to resto. JAM was 100% original. The steady mount is definitely under the thermostat housing.... |

hmmm.....i had a look at that idea, but that would put the engine steady plate very close to the thermo housing and rad hose where it attaches to the thermo housing. Is your engine steady level? |
