I have been chasing a miss in my moke. Which was the coil. To my surprise the dizzy has a 18 degree cam. I believe its the original. So by my calc if I was to set up the dizzy to 10 degrees the over all timing would be 18x2+10=46 degrees plus the vacum advance mechanism has a futher 6 degree's so the total is 52 degress. Now for the question Why would the factory use such a high degree cam to start with. I have put in a dizzy with 10 degree weight and set the timing to 13 degrees giving this totals 33 degree's plus a little more for the advance. It pulls a heck of a lot better. Thanks Kiwiinwgtn |
