Howdy there folks.
I have acquired 2 new bare pot joint driveshafts and noted the thick 2.30 mm washer on the inside of the CV joint spline
is termed 'obsolete' by the suppliers.
What is your advice here...Does one fit the old washers or leave them off?
Many thanks in advance.
M

You can't leave it off - get some old ones then - better than none.
I've swapped a few over before - PITA at times but straight forward.

They stop the cv joint sliding onto the axle too far, combined with the circlip it keeps the joint secure in place.

They aren't the easiest thing to swap over but it can be done.
