It'll still fit just the same, I think the 1275 LS did that with the over the top bracket. All the rovers used the angled strap. It attaches at the same point at the top, but an adapter bracket would have to be made for the bottom. |

Cheers harley I had a quick look with the standard strap in, I'll back off the bolt holding the top end and see if it can safely hold the diagonal. Looks long enough |

I have an SPI tank in my deluxe so if you need a photo of the adapter bracket at the bottom let me know. |

I got away with it when I bought an SPI tank to replace the 5.5 tank someone had fitted to my 1275LS. I did notice with just the standard strap that I could get it to wiggle inwards under the strap a little easier once in place, but it didn't cause a problem. It didn't move in practice. |

Don`t bother trying to fit the diagonal strap, just fit the std issue early "over the top" strap & it`s easy-peasy |

Just a little update I've managed to reuse the 5.5 strap with ease. Took the strap off - trial fitted the tank, marked two new points on the seat back and floor pan then simply drilled and fitted two new bolts to hold , pretty much the same location as standard just an inch to the right. |
