Just trolling parts suppliers, and drooling at some of the gear ( expensive) and noted Med making multisteel gaskets.

Are 73.5mm head gaskets all offset???- and is there any standard clearance between bore size and fire ring - to ensure the gasket doesn't get eaten - never really stopped to think about the in and outs???

i replaced 2 head gaskets .1st time block wasn't true .second time after next to no milage removed head myself to find gasket again blown between 2&3 cylinders normal gasket seals to close to bore some bores the gasket sits inside bore .replaced with multi steal gasket (not cheap) but better placement of seal rings . my motor is 1440 things like this seem to be overlooked by some rebuilders and lead to expensive repairs. well worth the money if fitted fist time

I'm pretty sure all the different steel shim gaskets that are available are all made by cometic. Not all of the gaskets are the same size though, when i was looking into them i found there were a few different thicknesses and bore sizes available depending on what shop you are buying from. I'm pretty sure they are evenly spaced as well.

I bought a 74mm gasket for my 1380 so the pistons wouldn't hit the gasket and it seems to be working great although the motor hasn't really done all that much.
