Nope I didn't end up needing to afterall. I tried earthing the Sender with my jumper leads and it didnt make any difference, so I figured that it must be something else.
The actual problem was quite funny. I had used a little bit of new wire that I had that came with terminals already crimped on to connect the gauge to my sender wire.
Here was the problem. Stupid person that put the terminal on. It doesnt work too well withour the wire actuall touching the metal. Haha.
Once I took that off and connected it up amazingly it worked. Haha
