I was reading about this new Penrite Classic Mini oil in the latest copy of BMC Experience.

Anyone had any first hand experience? Or any general thoughts, comments etc

Sounds way too bloody dear for what it is... I'll stick to Valvoline XLD Classic 20W/50.

How much is it for five litres?

The other problem is the nearest stockist to me in in Victoria! (I'm in Perth)

I think its around 40 dollars a bottle when you see it.

Valvoline have an XLD Classic. It doesn't have a picture of a mini on the front, so it sells on sale for around 11.99...

I think there might be a connection between a picture of a mini and the price?

We had a discussion about this a few weeks ago. The published spec doesn't seem to tell you anything to declare it as any different to another oil. The zinc content was actually lower than a competitors for good or bad.

You used to be able to get 10 litres of xld at big w cheaper than that

Ive have gotten 6 litres bottles of xld for 12.99 but that was about 2010

I just put it in my car actually,

Cost about 50 ish for the 5L il check the exact price when i find the recipt, it was an order in part from repco.

I think it works well the gears seem smoother to engage and yeah no standout problems.

I put it in mine about 800ks ago, was $45 which had delivery on it, considered it life blood, so why scrimp?. My little beast seems to enjoy it, the engine and gearbox seem and sound smoother. I will buy it again.. Perhaps a negotiated group buy will cut out re profiteers and every one is happy...??

Your a slave to the mini marty.... im sure its just std oil bottled up for a marketing scam.

I run penrite hpr 50. Usually pay $30 on trade price but really good clean oil.

How is sticking a picture of a Mini on an oil bottle going to make the oil work any better?
