Heya.

So I have to replace a front flexible brake hose. It's for drum brakes.

I bought a new one off an online store.

The new one is 5 cm shorter than the original and seems like it would be too short to allow the steering to be taken to full lock.

At first I thought maybe I'd been sent a disk brake hose but the store rekon it's the correct item and the disk brake hose is even shorter?

Is such a tight fit OK? Or should I get one made up to match the original at a brake shop?

I got another email from the shop saying that they checked and definitely sent the right part out.

So I went out to the shed to check again.... I spun the wheel to full lock and tried to put the hose in....

DIDN'T.... COME.... CLOSE

I guess i'll go across town to Mr Brakes and get one made up from the original.. seems like the best option at this point

I am fairly sure you have a disc brake hose, there are similar hoses to the Mini avail, so the next thing I would do is compare your old hose to the new hose, the inside of the larger fitting on the mini hose is dished and a lot of other hoses are raised in that area

Yep, I sent them the pic as well.

the price is not really the issue.. its more the fact I need it fixed so i can get to work.

I'll try a local brake shop in the morning and see how I go, its gotta be the quickest way anyway... which is what I need at this point.

Its just been a pain in the arse really with the problem happening over easter, alot of my plans for my holidays went out the window as they all relied on me having a car to drive around in.

ahh well.. it happens.

Yep, as John says, it looks as you got the shorter Disk brake hose.
