154 means Yd + Kc + Ud + Le + Ka which in english is Yd - Mechanical Fuel Pump Kc - Lucas 11AC Alternator Ud - Positive Crankcase Ventilation Le - regrettably non of my books reference these two features Ka - |

As they never made that many 1100S motors I assume it to be between 15400 and 15499 which is actually possible. The UK 154 code would not apply to an 1100S motor that was made at Zetland. The 1100S motor didn't come with an alternator. |

I've been told the engine came out of a South African import Mini (if that makes a difference) |

I couldn't read the least three number it looks like 154848 (only have photos at this stage pick up motor on April third). Anyway of telling the year of the engine? |
