A 1275 from a late Morris 1100S manual.
Big journal crank and `lumpy' rods.

Come on now really?

He posted 134*** meaning a motor between 154000 and 154999 or something like that.
As they never made that many 1100S motors I assume it to be between 15400 and 15499 which is actually possible.

The UK 154 code would not apply to an 1100S motor that was made at Zetland.
The 1100S motor didn't come with an alternator.

I've been told the engine came out of a South African import Mini (if that makes a difference)

Not with that engine number it didn't. It came out of an Australian Morris 1100S.
