Hi All, When I got my mini several years ago, the previous owner had tuned the carby without the mixture screw. Instead, he had simply put the choke on until the mixture was about right. Since then the choke has a habit of sticking where it was previously held by the choke. I'm looking at replacing the jet to prevent this - is there anything else that needs to be done? Does the jet seating wear at all? I have had some fuel leaking from the carby jet somewhere, but it's hard to tell exactly where. I was planning on getting a rebuild kit with new gaskets, jet and needle and seat - is there anything else I should be looking for? |

Buy the jet etc from a Mini shop or SU Midel. Do not buy Fuel Miser jets, the hose on them does not like unleaded or ethanol fuels. I had one swell closed up..... |

You can buy the rebuild as a kit. That way you've got the lot, like the single use linkage retainers and gaskets. |

Of course make sure you retrieve all of the seal at the bowl end of the jet supply hose. |

Is it worth buying the jet tool or can you do it with a long tube socket? |

There's a tool? I never needed one. Just use a spanner to undo the jet's retaining nut. |
