I just got my x pin LSD diff today. Can you change it over without taking the engine out?

Short answer no

Long answer you should probably take the engine out because you would have to be pretty creative to do it in the car.

The diff cover draws out on long studs. The cover will only move a little way before it would foul on the subframe.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will add engine removal to the list then. I'm guessing if you jacked the car up high enough, it would be possible to swing the whole assembly down enough to get those bolts free? Then it would only be engine mounts that need to be done.

No Clive, it`s actually more work to get it out while it`s in the car
best to just pop the donk out, swap the diff over on the bench & then
shove the donk back in
i can help you out sometime next week if that`s any good to you?

Ahh well that's what is is Simon then. Thanks, for clarifying that.

Thinking about it, it is really easy to get it out. I just drop it off to the mr magic miniman and hey presto I get a phone call to come over for a chin wag n pick it up.....how easy is that!!!

Cheers Matt, will do.
