Hi guys,
I seem to be having some oil pressure issues with my mini and i am not sure why..
My usual oil pressure is 60 when cold at idle and start up is 75psi and when hot its 18-20psi
I undid my oil pressure re-leaf valve as i wanted to see whether or not it had a ball bearing inside of it.
It turns out its just a standard spring with no packing and standard plunger.

After i did it all up again my start up oil pressure is over 100psi (gauge reads to 100) and it will be like that for about 10min while idling at 1000rpm.
What would cause this and how do i fix it? I don't want my oil filter popping off while i am plodding along.

the plunger must be jammed in - take it out and have another look

first thing you should've done after you got 100psi is think "what did I change", and then check it...

If there are any marks on the side of the plunger sand them off, or fit a new plunger.

10mm I think. push in and then turn the nut with fingers, it makes a handy handle...
