Wouldn't mind members feedback on what shocks they have loved or hated on there minis. Presently I'm running spax 20 point adjustables. I find them pretty good but too firm, I'm thinking of trying a set of blisteins, (see below). I read that the poms seem to rave about avo shocks and gaz, what do you use on the street and track!

I'd be using Bilsteins if I could afford them - Doogie (ex Motorkhana champion and all-round nice guy) runs them on his motorkhana car and wouldn't use anything else.

What are you paying for the set, and where from? I wouldn't mind just a pair of fronts (hydro car)

I've got these:

I've only had a minimal amount of use out of them, but they are a vast improvement over my very old red-riders. I don't know what 'self adjusting' is supposed to mean - but they give a good balance of ride and handling I think.

I run Bilsteins in my other car. They have been on the car for 20 yrs to my knowledge and are a great shocker and still going strong. The ones I've got have the advantage of being able to be rebuilt and revalved to suit the car, mind you they were $400 a corner!

Cheers Shane

We run lowered GAZ shocks on two of our cars.

Seem to do a great job in motorkhanas. :D

Simon, where do I send payment too?

Bilsteins are brilliant shocks, forever rebuildable, they were the single greatest improvement to my cooper s apart from the quaife diff.

Doogie

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

From what I've heard the Bilsteins are probably the best, though the price is pretty epic!

So at least $450 + postage. Don't mistake them for the cheaper ones:

I have a set of Protech Alloy lowered shocks:

http://www.minispares-online.co.uk/rear ... ssic-mini/

Won't really be able to tell you if they're any good, but are well built, solid and fairly affordable. Improved the ride out of hand, but when I say that I also replaced all donuts, bushes and fitted adjustable suspension at the same time, so I can't tell you how much is due to the shocks.
