Hi all,

I have just been assembling the new CV joints and they come pre-packed with the CV grease in them. However I took the liberty of ordering the little 30gram (I think that was the size of them) packets of CV grease from minispares when I ordered joints. Given that they are pre-packed, do they still need the additional grease added to them?

I already went ahead and added the extra, while moving the joint around constantly to work it right into the bearings there. However my concern now is that it will spew the grease out of the ends of the boots if they don't hold tight.

The photo below shows the drive shaft sitting there before I knocked it in.

Cheers,
Nathan :D

I'm not sure that will be enough, or you could definitely add more. Once that grease slings out into the very large boot, then what is left is not very much.

I never use the sachets, I always keep a tub of Molybdenum Disulphide grease which I use. Always from a reputable name as well. Again like the other, pack the bearings, and add a little extra into the boot as well.
