I heard that on the radio, he definitely accomplished a lot.

A very rare type of guy. Certainly earned his place in the history book.
The only man ever to win a F1 championship in a car of his own design.
His philosophy was to win a race in the slowest possible time which was opposite to
Jackie Stewart's, which was to win at the fastest possible time.
Also Ron Tauranac should be given considerable recognition for Jack's success.
He designed his chassis to be strong and endurable to finish the races, which interestingly, was the opposite to Colin Chapman, who designed his chassis to be as light as possible.
So two men with very similar thoughts and a somewhat similar attitude conquered the might of F1.

Correction- I meant Stirling Moss not Jackie Stewart.
"Sterling Moss achieved success in several categories of competition and has been described as "the greatest driver never to win the World Championship".

Jackie Stewart was recognised as an exceptionally smooth drive and had won three titles.
My apologies to Sir Jackie Stewart

Yep ,we have lost a true motor sport icon .

I was lucky enough to be standing beside him on the steps leading up to the corporate boxes at the Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek Raceway in 2012 , my nephew and i were coming down from the viewing area as his people were helping him up the stairs , but the crowd of people made it slow going ,
it was a good feeling to be so close to a true legend .

RIP Jack Brabham AO OBE, also an ex serviceman.

Deserving of a state funeral I believe.

Concur - if there is something above "State Funeral" he deserves that!

The last time I spoke to Jack I got him to autograph this...

He had a good laugh about it and told me it was one of his money making endorsement ventures.

(and I really hate asking people for autographs)

Correction to my above comment - I meant Stirling Moss not Jackie Stewart.
"Sterling Moss achieved success in several categories of competition and has been described as "the greatest driver never to win the World Championship". It seemed he had little sympathy for machinery unlike Jack Brabham.

Jackie Stewart was recognised as an exceptionally smooth driver and had won three titles.
My apologies to Sir Jackie Stewart
