Rang these guys today about insurance and was really impressed with what they had to say. Reasonable price, great customer service. Just though this was worth posting.

Yep good service and very good prices. I was able to comprehensively insure my Mk 1 S, Mini K race car (both agreed values) and V8 Commodore (market value) for about $30 a month more than it was costing me just for the V8 Commodore with someone else!! Great value from my point of view.

I rang them.. and they told me that they didn't insure anyone under 19.. which I later found out wasn't true. So I then rang them back and talked to someone else who said they do. But then wouldn't insure my car because it didn't have a 3point imobiliser and alarm. Then rang back later and found I didn't actually need this to get it insured, they gave me a quote. But I found better else where. The employees seem to just decide what the policies are as the wish. No offence czerial I know you used to work there, I'm sure you were fine.. I just found the customer serice a bit.. useless.

And I then went and talked to them all individually and none of them knew what was going on.. So yes.

No offence taken mate. That sounds like very bad service. On the whole they are very good though. And the immobiliser story depends on where the car is kept blah blah blah a lot of reasons and sometimes up to the discression of theunderwriter. A shannons staff mamember on the whole knows a WHOLE lot more about insurance, your car than any other insurance company IMO

I must say whilst I have been useing shannons whith all my modified cars for over 10years. They bumped up my premium by 40% (reduced my no claim) after I made the first claim I ever made in my life on any policy (I'm 38) when I had an acident with a roo in my 92 rover. I was very happy with the repairs but $1200pa does not warrent me keeping the car as a daily driver.
Shannons said they do not offer a "modern classic" policy so its no cheaper if im not useing it all the time. However Vigil have Quoted me an ocasional use policy of 500ish/pa for ocasional use. The deiference pays rego & 3rd pary property on a cheap clubbie.
I used to think shannons where great now I'm not as happy now. Whith less money in the pocket.
My 120000c worth.

My dad has his vette and mums holden with them 2..
