I seem to be useless with the 'Search' function and cannot for the life of me find what I am after. . .

Can somone please Link me to a list of Interior colours availible in Mini's?
I have a feeling I would really like to trim my Car with Herringbone Tweed inside. . . just curious if a Mini ever came with something similar.

thanks
Leroy.

If you can post the style and colour as a pic or link then people may be able to suggest something similar that was used.

The UK built many more variations of the Mini over a much longer period than Australia so probably more chance there. I can't think of any Aus cars that had a tweed pattern.

Very early cars had some patterned or speckled vinyls then it was mainly plain coloured vinyls in the mid to late 60's (e.g. red, blue, green, black, bone) or in the 70's it was more brown or black vinyl with a patterned cloth insert or ribbed velour.

The English tended to go for more checked patterns in the 70's and 80's

I do not have a specific colour in mind, maybe a Mid grey?

Herringbone is the 'style' of tweed I like, more of a military style I suppose, the fabric is in 'V' shapes I suppose.
this is herringbone

There is a factory document for interior colours. Specific with numbers as well. Winabbey knows the one I mean amongst others. I wont find it as I am on tapatalk but will look later once im on a pc.

cool, thanks.

im not worried if its not a standard option, but if there was one similar I may as well try and go for that rather than something else, where as if it was never an option then Ill just go with whichever tweed I fancy/can get at a decent price.

Oh, I love the sound of a tweed interior! That would SO suit my tweed grey/OEW '68. Very very nice idea! Actually I can even imagine a tweed centre to the seats with leather/vinyl sides (on the high-wear spots). That would look classy!

I know tartans were used in some of the Japanese Rovers. From memory they had a "tartan edition" which was similar to a Camel Thompson (or Burberry Fashion) tartan in tone. Was quite nice, but quite dissimilar to the tweed.

If you go with the tweed do keep us posted! Would love to see how it comes up.

The interior needs re-triming (well I need some low back front seats to trim actualy!)
I will most certainly be looking towards the Tweed,
your idea of the leather/vynle boulstering sounds brilliant! I had not thought of that, i think that woudl look schnazzy! but what colour vynle to go with a grey tweed? then what carpet to match 0_0 and what dash surround?. . . . would need to be an entire package to tie it all together.

p.s. looking at your grey mini makes me second guess my choice to go white!!! the grey just looks so nice!

Then you'd be pleased with English Grey. Its a Grey that's actually quite white!

You won't find Australian Mini colours on a UK Mini site.
The best place to look is right here... viewtopic.php?f=25&t=66469
