No nuts, bolts, screws or nails. Can't see any clips, grommets, latches, jubilees or clamps.

I've pulled pretty hard, but maybe I need to pull harder. So how in the hell do I remove the Handbrake Handle from my '98 Rover?

It's just pushed on, but because its rubberised its hard to remove.
Ive seen the odd one glued on too - not sure if that was factory or not though.

Try warming it up with a heat gun to make it release a bit.
They are fitted tight.

Thanks guys. I think I'll buy a proper heat gun on the way home. The Missus' hair dryer just isn't cutting it these days.

Try twisting it - that often helps.

You need to stick your tongue out just a little.

A filter strap can help break the seal.

If its rubber, try peeling up a bit and squirting air thru a small nozzle up it !!

Works for motorcycle hand grips

Yep, mine was glued on. After some prying, heating and clever use of fencing wire I managed to slide it off. I installed my fly-away handbrake and had some fun on a rainy Sunday in an empty carpark. I also found out that my cable needs some adjusting, as the passenger side didn't want to lock quite as nicely as the driver side. Good times.
