I'm looking at fitting a set of 14 x 6 inch wheels with 195/60 R14 tyres to my 78 Clubbie. Will they fit without too much modification? (I have flared arches as I'm currently running 165/60 R12's). If not possible what are the largest wheels that will fit? Any photo's of examples greatly appreciated ![]() |

You can fit 15 inch wheels to a Mini. The problems start when you try to fit tyres. By my estimates your current tyres have a diameter of 19.9" (502mm) and you want to fit a tyre with a dia of 23.21" (589mm) How much space is there between the front of the rear tyre and the trailing arm? You need 44mm. |

13secmini put a set of 14s on his `Daihatsu MiniK'. They fit, but I dunno what the tyre profile or size is. |

14" rims with 195/40/14 tyres are comparable to 175/50/13 wheels - problem is the tyres are VERY difficult to obtain. I think only TOYO make them and you'd have to get them from Japan. |

Don't think the 14 inch idea is going to work! |

I think you'll foul the front guards with 6" wide tyres when you turn. I'm pretty sure they need to be thinner. |

force racing do a 15x5" rim but good luck in finding rubber bands to fit them and start from 1000pounds to buy, there was a guy here in SA who had 14" rims he bought tires from japan IIRC |

Cheers Phil I have seen your thread re: MNIWRX and very impressive. I love the Bini rear lights and flat fuel cap but I'm afraid that type of work is way way beyond my abilities! I think the 14 inch wheel idea was just a crazy idea! |

Harley is 100% spot on. I had them on my 850, same guard mods to the front as you need for 13s and the rears need a trim of the trailing arm bleed nipple dust guard plate thingy! |

I have seen 15's on a mini in amagazine somwhere. They required the guard to be cut though - not sure you want to go to that extreme. Did look pretty good though. |

I have also got a clubbie with 175/50/13 . They were rubbing the guards , so I cut the panels for more room . Then stuck the flares on can't tell they have been cut. The 14 inch wheels would look awesome. Here is a couple of photos ![]() ![]() ![]() |
