Some Ausmini posts are very hard to read and understand what's being said because the poster hasn't used proper sentences (i.e. a full stop at the end of a sentence and Capital at the beginning of the next sentence) resulting in the words all running together. Some use SMS or texting techniques that are fine when communicating with a colleague via a mobile phone but are less friendly on a forum like this. Most of the time all this is done because it's quicker and easier for the author. However the time the author saves is more than lost when everyone who reads the post has to go through it several time in order to decipher the message.

It's certainly not expected that everyone has perfect spelling and grammar skills as we come from very different age groups and backgrounds. We all make spelling and other mistakes from time to time but I think it's a common courtesy for the author of a post to make the extra effort before pressing Submit to ensure their post will be easy to understand by whoever reads it.

As a moderator I sometimes edit posts that are in the above category, and I'm finding the need to do that more often of late.

By all means enjoy your time on Ausmini. Just think of others when you construct a post. :)

Comments on all the above most welcome. What do you think?

Another annoyance is the Subject. A subject line that just says "I have a question", "Wow!!" or "What is this?" is not much help later when you are going though search results trying to find a thread on a particular subject.

And yes that educational film should be mandatory viewing.

How come when you type one line in the quick reply it becomes one and half on a second line when submitted

This was seen as one line to me in the message box

It also happens in the full editor. Even after previewing and correcting, it posts differently.

Pretty well agree with all of the above.

It should be compulsory to preview every post before submitting. :)
